about

From 2011 this was the first Christmas track recorded by The Drain On The Balcony since their formation in 1977, since remastered and now seeing yet another reissue! (well if Slade can do it...)

It is a name your price release, so for as long as our Bandcamp credits last, or until the end of December, you can choose to download it for free, or alternatively contribute to our Christmas drinks fund.

Download includes audio file in a choice of formats, plus commemorative 2011 artwork pdf file.

Merry Xmas!

Put my snowman in the freezer coz I don't want him to die
Had to chop him into pieces, god its hard to say goodbye
The turkey’s on the table, and its one slice at a time
Christmas might be done but I'll wear my Santa hat tonight

The Angel on the Christmas tree began to play Coltrane
She always gets the blues when the snow turns back to rain
I'll hide behind the mistletoe when aunts and uncles fight
Christmas might be done but I'll wear my Santa hat tonight

Whoever said that this tree was nondrop
Get him round to hoover the floor
I ain't got time coz its party party non-stop
I’ve broken all my presents so you'd better bring some more

Marks and Spencers chocolates meltdown by an open fire
Steve McQueen’s cycle got tangled in the wire
Pulled my Auntie's cracker kept the prezzie out of spite
Christmas might be done but I’ll wear my Santa hat tonight

Drunken carol singers started fighting in the streets
That'll be the tainted mince-pies I gave them to eat
I’ll mix my double whisky with a flat Budweiser Lite
Christmas might be done I’ll wear my Santa hat tonight

Whoever said that this turkey was king-size?
I’ve been eating bones for a week
I bruised my jaw on last year’s mince pies
I’ve used all my brandy butter brushing my teeth

Christmas might be done I’ll wear my Santa hat tonight
Christmas might be done I’ll wear my Santa hat tonight
Christmas might be done I’ll wear my Santa hat tonight
Christmas might be done I’ll wear my Santa hat tonight
